Leadership and Versatility: Lead and mentor the finance team, stepping in to ensure continuity in key business areas during staff absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial and Business Management: Oversee, train, and support finance staff in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and when needed, other business functions.
  • Banking & Cashflow: Handle daily banking, manage cash flows through careful reconciliation and forward planning.
  • Compliance and Assurance: Oversee taxation, superannuation compliance, and coordinate with auditors for end-of-year audits.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the delivery of timely and precise financial reports, conduct variance and cash flow analyses.
  • Operational Support: Serve as a pivotal financial link between Directors and Operational Managers, ensuring seamless business operations.
  • System and Process Optimisation: Maintain and enhance the effectiveness of MYOB and other financial reporting platforms.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational Background: University degree in business with a major in accountancy.
  • Professional Experience: At least 5 years in a similar role, with a preference for experience in the manufacturing sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal Competencies: Exceptional communication, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel and Flexibility: Must have a current driver's license, willing to travel within Tasmania and possibly to the mainland. Open to occasional weekend and out-of-hours work.
